LIENERT VINEYARDS
The ‘terra rossa’ soils that dominate the Lienert Vineyards landscape are renowned the world over for producing wines of rich flavor and firm structure, ideal for heritage Barossa varieties such as Shiraz, Grenache and Cabernet Sauvignon, along with emerging styles like Graciano, Malbec and Roussanne.
The vineyards enjoy uninterrupted exposure to the warm Barossa sun, ensuring the fruit easily achieves optimum flavor ripeness whilst retaining excellent structure. The elevated position takes advantage of afternoon sea breezes from nearby St Vincent Gulf to cool the canopy, producing bright aromatics and retaining natural acidity in the wines.
What was once the family farm has now become a source of outstanding quality Barossa fruit, greatly in demand from leading Barossa winemakers. Each year, John and James reserve parcels of fruit from select vineyard blocks to be sold under the Lienert Vineyards and Jack West Wines labels.
